THE MYSTERIES OF THE ROSARY

The Rosary is a prayer in which you think in the life of Jesus and of his Blessed Mother. These events are called Mysteries. The Mysteries are divided into four groups:

*MARY IS MOTHER OF GRACE, MOTHER OF MERCY
*IN LIFE AND DEATH PROTECT US OUR MOTHER

THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES (Monday-Saturday)
1. THE ANNUNCIATION. The Angel Gabriel brings God`s message to Mary.
2. THE VISITATION. Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth.
3. THE NATIVITY. Jesus is born in Bethlehem.
4. THE PRESENTATION. Jesus is presented in the Temple.
5. THE FINDING IN THE TEMPLE. Jesus is found in the Temple.

THE SORROWFUL MYSTERIES (Tuesday-Friday)
1. THE AGONY IN THE GARDEN. Jesus sweats blood.
2. THE SCOUGING AT THE PILLAR.
3. THE CROWNING WITH THORNS.
4. CARRYING OF THE CROSS. Jesus carries his Cross.
5. THE CRUCIFIXION. Jesus dies on the Cross.

THE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES (Wednesday-Sunday)
1. THE RESURRECTION. Jesus rises from the dead.
2. THE ASCENSION. Jesus ascends into heaven.
3. THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT upon the Apostles.
4. THE ASSUMPTION. The virgin Mary is taken up to heaven.
5. THE CORONATION. Mary is Crowned Queen of heaven`n` earth.

THE LUMINOUS MYSTERIES (Thursday)
1. THE BAPTISM OF JESUS in the Jordan.
2. THE REVELATION OF JESUS in the weddings of Caná.
3. THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD, Invitation to the conversion.
4. THE TRANSFIGURATION OF JESUS in the mount Tabor.
5. THE SACRAMENT, as sacramental expression of the paschal mystery.

I confess to Almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do; and I ask Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.

SHORT ACT OF CONTRICTION

Oh my God, I love thee, and because I love thee I am sorry for all my sins. I promise to be good, and to sin no more. Amen.

THE APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, sitted at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, Our life, Our sweetness, and Our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee do we send up our sights
Mourning and weeping in this Valley of tears.Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus.Oh clement, Oh loving, Oh sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, Oh Holy Mother of God that we may be made worthy, of the promises of Christ.
